Free and interactive reading comprehension games?
Yes, please!
This page gives you free access (for a limited time only) to short, comprehensible stories and review games, with built-in brain breaks!
We love to gamify reading! Once students get a streak of 5 correct answers in a row, they start earning stickers. Challenge them to earn as many stickers as possible!
Students can hover over each word in the story to see its translation, keeping things as comprehensible as possible.
Some stories come with customized activity packs and extension activities for purchase, helping to make the stories last all week in your classroom - SO MUCH input!
FAQ:
-
Easy peasy! Just copy and paste the game link into your LMS (Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology), and it will open the game for each student.
-
NOPE! This keeps things super easy! No logins or student names are ever needed to play.
-
Each student will receive a unique completion report at the end of each game. The easiest way to track the reports is for them to copy and paste the report into a Google Doc linked to the assignment, and then submit the doc when done. You can require them to play any number of times - more input!
-
NOPE! Each report generates a unique, 1-time-use codeword that isn’t reproducible, so students can’t duplicate or copy from a classmate.
-
There are 25 questions, including true/false, multiple choice. sequencing, and two truths and a lie. Each game is self-correcting and requires students to answer all 25 questions correctly to finish.
-
Create mini-competitions! Timer option: challenge them to beat their own time or compete against a classmate - but make sure they still need to get 100% correct while being faster! Stickers option- challenge them to get the most stickers, and have the winner read each sticker aloud in Spanish for fun. Points option: see who can get the most points with 100% correct.
